A few months ago, I cooked shrimp for the first time. I was hooked. Shrimp cooks so quickly, and it is easy to tell when the shrimp is cooked thoroughly. I have not gotten adventurous enough to buy anything but the deveined, shelled shrimp. I wasn’t confident enough in myself to go that far….yet! Thus far, I have tried several shrimp recipes. Here is the first one of several that were my favorite.
This recipe is not an original but it looked tasty so I had to try it. I highly recommend the Buttery Garlic Shrimp as an appetizer. This recipe would be a great party appetizer that doesn’t require a lot of time. I served the shrimp with a chilled Riesling. I toasted a French baguette in the oven. The butter garlic sauce has a smooth buttery taste so I made sure I spooned a little over the toasted bread and a little extra for plate and garnished with some parsley.
Initially, I thought that the butter garlic sauce would not be sufficient so I concocted a red dipping sauce just in case. The red sauce had a great flavor with a little kick reminiscent of a cocktail sauce, but the extra sauce was completely unnecessary. This recipe stands on its own and definitely must try at home! This would be an impressive dish for upcoming holiday parties.
